Your SilverAli Workshop Experience
Fancy making your own jewellery?
If you’ve ever been curious about trying silversmithing, my jewellery workshops offer a relaxed and welcoming introduction to making jewellery by hand.
Based in my studio in Drybrook in the Forest of Dean, these small group workshops are designed for beginners who want to try something creative and leave with a piece of jewellery they’ve made themselves.
No experience is needed - just curiosity and a willingness to have a go.
What workshops do I offer?
I currently run two main types of jewellery workshop:
Sterling Silver Jewellery Workshops
Create your own jewellery from solid sterling silver using traditional silversmithing techniques.
Depending on the workshop, participants may create pieces such as:
• ring bands
• stacking rings
• pendants
• earrings
• banglesThese workshops are beginner-friendly and designed to guide you step-by-step through the process of making your own silver jewellery.
Cutlery Upcycling Workshops
These sessions focus on turning vintage cutlery into jewellery.
Spoons and forks can be transformed into bold jewellery such as spoon rings, pendants or bracelets. The process is slightly more physical than silver workshops, but incredibly satisfying and great fun.
Many people love the quirky recycling aspect of these sessions.
After Hours Creative Sessions
Alongside jewellery workshops, I occasionally run relaxed After Hours Creative Sessions.
These are informal evening sessions where we explore creative projects that don’t involve precious metals. They’re perfect for experimenting and enjoying a creative evening in the studio.
Projects include:
• costume jewellery remodelling (into jewellery or small art panels)
• alternative chain-making using non-precious metals for bold, rock-chick style piecesThese sessions are adults only, and participants are welcome to bring their own drinks (including alcoholic drinks) to enjoy while making.
A relaxed studio environment
Workshops take place in my Forest of Dean studio, with small group sizes so everyone receives plenty of guidance and time using the tools.
The studio has:
• free parking (if full, there is an alternative free car park only 3 minutes walk away)
• a single unisex toilet
• biscuits (very important!)Participants are welcome to bring drinks or snacks if they wish.
Perfect for many occasions
Jewellery workshops make a great experience for:
• birthdays
• anniversaries
• creative days out
• trying something new
• spending time with friends or familySome participants come on their own, while others book with friends or as a small group.
