Frequently Asked Questions

Orders & Delivery

  1. How long does it take to receive my order?
Refurbished jewellery orders are dispatched on Tuesdays and Fridays (9am cut-off).

Handmade jewellery orders follow the same schedule unless you have requested 'a made to order' or 'custom' piece. In that case, we will discuss the timescales when you place your order, which can take up to 8 weeks. All handmade jewellery is dispatched via insured delivery only.

  2. Can I request a rush order?
Yes, although the speed depends on whether your order is for refurbished, handmade, or custom jewellery. Rush orders will attract an additional fee.

  3. What are your dispatch and delivery times for international orders?
I currently only dispatch orders within the UK. While I have no immediate plans to offer international shipping, if you are outside the UK and would like to make a purchase, please contact me to discuss insured postage options.

Returns & Policies

  1. Can I return an item?
Returns are possible depending on the circumstances. Please refer to my terms and conditions page for details. Refurbished, handmade, and custom orders are handled slightly differently. If you have any questions, feel free to drop me a message, and I’ll be happy to help.

  2. Can you hold or reserve refurbished jewellery for me?
Yes, I can hold items for you, but there are a few important conditions:

    • A non-refundable deposit of £5 per item is required, which will be deducted from the final balance.

    • An administration fee of £2.50 per item applies, which is non-refundable and not deducted from the price of the jewellery—it covers the cost of holding the item.

    • I will hold items for a maximum of 10 days, including weekends and bank holidays.

    • If the 10-day period lapses without payment, you will lose your deposit. The admin fee will also not be refunded, as it is a separate charge for holding the item. Additionally, I will be unable to hold items for you in the future.

Payment & Services

  1. What payment methods do you accept?
I accept major credit cards, debit cards, PayPal, Klarna, and SumUp (both card reader and digital invoice).

  2. Do you offer gift vouchers?
Yes, I offer both general gift vouchers and workshop gift vouchers. You can purchase them here: Vouchers and Ring Sizers.

Custom & Personalisation

  1. Do you offer custom jewellery?
Yes, but I’m selective about the designs I take on. If I’m excited about your idea, I’ll commit; if not, I’ll respectfully decline. I don’t offer custom work year-round, but a few times a year, and you’ll need to be signed up to my mailing list to be notified when I’m accepting custom projects. Also, I will never copy another jeweller's work, so please don’t send me screenshots asking for replicas.

  2. Can I personalise a piece of jewellery?
I do not currently offer an engraving service. However, there are alternative methods of personalisation that can be discussed through a custom order. Please contact me if this is something you would like to consider.

Jewellery Information

  1. How can I find out my ring size?
The most accurate way to determine your ring size is by using a ring sizer, which you can purchase from my website. Follow the included instructions to ensure the correct fit. Make sure the sizer slips comfortably over your knuckle—this will ensure that your ring fits properly without being too tight or too loose.

  2. What materials do you use in your handmade jewellery?
I use recycled sterling silver, either sourced from a UK bullion dealer or refined in my studio from off-cuts, mistakes, and scrap. I also use ethically sourced gemstones, trading only with suppliers who can provide evidence that their stones are ethically sourced.

  3. Is your jewellery hallmarked?
Yes, all my handmade jewellery that weighs over 7.78 grams in sterling silver is hallmarked in compliance with UK legal standards. Hallmarking involves sending the piece to an official assay office, where it is tested to ensure the metal meets the required purity standards. Once approved, the piece is stamped with a hallmark to confirm its quality and authenticity. Pieces under 7.78 grams are not legally required to be hallmarked, but rest assured, they are still made from the same high-quality, recycled sterling silver.

Workshops

  1. Can I book a workshop?
Of course! Please make sure you're aware of my location in Drybrook, Gloucestershire. You can find all the details, including dates and prices, under the 'Jewellery Shop' drop-down menu on my website.

Jewellery Care

  1. How do I care for my jewellery?
Proper care is essential to maintain the longevity of your jewellery. For both refurbished and handmade pieces, I recommend storing them in a dry, cool place, away from direct sunlight and moisture. Avoid wearing your jewellery when swimming, showering, or doing physical activities that could expose it to harsh chemicals or excessive wear. For detailed cleaning tips, you can visit my Silver Care page, which offers guidance on how to clean your jewellery at home.

Other Questions

  1. Do you offer bulk or wholesale orders?
No, as a small business, this is not something I offer nor intend to.

  2. Can you repair my jewellery for me?
No, I stopped offering jewellery repair and refurbishing services to the public in 2023. However, I continue to sell refurbished jewellery from my existing collection alongside my handmade pieces.

  3. Do you buy sterling silver jewellery from the public?
No, I no longer buy sterling silver jewellery from the public. I stopped purchasing in January 2023 to focus on creating and selling my own handmade designs. However, I have a large collection of pre-loved pieces that I continue to refurbish and offer for sale.
