Make Your Own Silver Ring – Silversmithing Workshop for Beginners

Time: 10am to 3pm approx
Location: SilverAli studio, Drybrook, Gloucestershire

Join me for a hands-on jewellery-making workshop where you’ll design and create your own sterling silver band ring from scratch! Perfect for complete beginners, this fun and relaxed workshop introduces you to traditional silversmithing techniques – no prior experience needed.

With only four participants per session, you'll receive plenty of personal guidance in a supportive, small-group setting, ensuring you get the help you need when you need it.

What You’ll Experience:

• Ring Sizing – Learn how to measure and size your ring for a perfect fit.

• Tool Discovery – Get hands-on with jeweller’s tools and understand their uses.

• Copper Practice – Before moving on to silver, you'll have time to practise your stamping and texturing techniques on copper, giving you the freedom to try out ideas, make mistakes, and build confidence without any pressure.

• Making Your Ring – Shape, hammer, stamp, file, and polish your silver band, transforming raw material into a finished piece.

Halfway through the workshop we'll take a short break for a biscuit and a drink. Feel free to bring a sandwich, snack or packed lunch if you’d like.

By the end of the workshop, you’ll take home a unique, personalised silver ring – handmade by you!

Who Can Join?

• Complete beginners welcome – no experience needed.

• Ages 16+ (Under 18s must be accompanied by an adult).

• Creative minds looking for a fun, practical experience!

Important Notes:

• No open-toe shoes or sandals allowed in my studio/workshop.

• Aprons provided – but wear something you don’t mind getting dusty.

• Good hand dexterity is required, as the workshop involves detailed hand tools and fine motor skills.

• Bring reading glasses if needed for close-up work.

• Workshop is on the first floor (not wheelchair accessible).

• Free parking on-site.

Cancellation & Booking Information:

If you need to cancel, please provide at least 14 days’ notice. Refunds are not available, but you’ll have the option to reschedule for an alternative date.
