Why My Handmade Jewellery is a Mini Playground for Your Fingers

Have you ever had that moment when you cut your nails after letting them grow for months? You get used to that bit of extra length, the satisfying click against surfaces, the tiny thrill of tapping them, only to feel oddly bare once they’re trimmed. If you’re anything like me, you might fidget with things simply for the pleasure of sensation. And that’s exactly what I aim to bring into my handmade jewellery - a little something to touch, feel and enjoy.

I’m a natural twiddler. If I have a ring or bracelet on, you can bet it’s being fiddled with. That habit got me thinking: why not make jewellery that feels just as good as it looks? So, I started designing tactile jewellery pieces with unique textures that encourage interaction, like a mini playground for your fingers!

Textures in my jewellery aren’t just for looks; they’re there to add a bit of sensory delight. Take my Seriously Twisted rings: these unique, textured handmade rings have an asymmetric, gently raised design from crossed-over wires that invites you to run your fingers over them. Or my Goosebumps cuff: it’s bumpy and bold on the outside, yet sleek and smooth on the inside, creating a satisfying contrast for the wearer.

For some, jewellery is purely decorative. For me, it’s a tiny wearable bit of fun, something that’s enjoyable to wear and even more sensory to touch. My Strawberry earrings: smooth and rounded with a spiky, leaf-like top, are perfect for a bit of discreet fidgeting and sensation. And my handmade chains? Links vary in texture, offering a tactile experience that’s endlessly satisfying. I like to think of my pieces as small sources of sensory enjoyment.

There’s something about cutting nails that feels like closing a little chapter, however small. Jewellery can be like that too - something you grow attached to and miss when it’s not there. My goal is to create pieces that feel like they belong, adding a bit of texture to your day and inviting you to enjoy those small moments, from wearing a favourite ring to that fresh-cut nail feeling.

So, if you’re a fidgeter or simply someone who likes UK-made jewellery with a bit of personality, know that each piece I make comes with a built-in invitation to twiddle, touch and play. My handmade jewellery doesn't just look good, it feels good too, offering a small, sensory thrill you can carry with you.
